Welcome to the second quick tip for AussieGeekPodcast.com, this time round we check out how to create disc images inside OS X to reduce the wear and tear on DVD-RW drives.
Using the Disc Utility on Mac OS X is a good way to limit the wear on your system optical drive!

I’ll be learning stuff soon and I have been using it nearly 4 yrs.
You can also create disk images from Roxio Toast Titanium… if you have it.
I find disk images useful for chucking onto thumb drives when I want to move data around and keep it all nicely packaged.

If anyone has a favorite piece of software for OS X that you want others to know about, drop a comment on the blog and I’ll try and showcase it for a quick tip.
Probably worth thinking about some web services walk through’s or perhaps setting some hidden features for a particular site - eg: Google Mail. Or maybe some Firefox Hacks - like forcing a new tab on using the search box.
