Video Suggestions and Update
Since I am obviously hopeless at finding half decent videos and since I have been thinking about them. If you have found a video that you think should be featured here on the blog as our video of the week, let us know!

Just to update everyone as well. We are currently waiting on an update to an essential plugin to be able to start the podcast again. That sounds stupid, but true. WordPress 2.6 broke PodPress. PodPress gives podcasters the ability to manage their enclosures, the album art, iTunes, feed and many other aspects of podcasts. Including very detailed stats.
They seem trivial but are in fact mission critical things. To us podcasters anyway. We tried a few alternatives and fell back on a simple flash audio player for the 000 episode. Mainly becuase the alternatives either did not cut it or they broke other stuff. So we wait for PodPress to be updated. Which according to the developer should be in about a week.
Otherwise we are working on consolidating the site. Tweaking and adding features. One virtual six pack to whoever noticed what I added today. Plus we are working on the Google juice as well. You can help us by blogging about the new site and telling your friends. If you know anyone that doesn’t know what happened to the geeks, be sure to set them straight.

Not sure yet what we can squish into that sidebar. The theme that we are using nativly supports YouTube in the widgets - makes ir really easy to insert them. I don’t have to muck about resizing them. So YouTube preferred for now… But we are working on other things.
OK, OK I hear ya’s… we will look at a forum in due course. Let us get sorted out here then I will get one up and running. But if we are going to do that then I am probably going to need a few forum admins - or would that be “geekmins”? You get the idea. So stay tuned. Just that in my experience they have never been hugely utilized by many people. BUT your asking for it and this is not the first time. You have spoken and I have listened
I will probably be doing one that is not hosted on this server but that is fine - I want to try something.
BTW that is the new album art. What do you guys think of it?
Re Album Art: Where’d you find the image?
Does it really say “Aussie Geeks” or does it say “Chip Manufacturer” … I’m not sure what it’s saying right now. It looks “technological” but does it say “geek”?
Things you need to think about; What are you trying to describe when you say, “Aussie Geek Podcast”?
I gather you don’t like it Herne?
I think the image is alright. I’m not sure it says “Aussie Geek Podcast” to me… I’m thinking of suggestions.
Well to us it is a pretty “geeky” image. The other thing is that for us we want to brand AGP as much as the actual name - we thought that was important and worth the effort. It encompasses Cait’s love of robots and stuff like that as well. Oh, and we purchased the rights to the image
Then you have the blog - we chose colours that we thought reflected Australia and yup it is a bit different. We are road testing everything in this regard.
One thing I can say is that the album art does catch the eye and stand out among other avatars, logos and art - we think it will look pretty good in iTunes.
But anyway that was the thinking around it.
Just thought I had to make my presence felt so HI!!!!!
Loved the youtube video in the sidebar. If you get anything like that it will be a welcome addition.
