Featured Music

We are featuring a band for the next few weeks called Lizards from Afar. The first track we have form them is called 4H and Fourteen. We thank “Gator” for an into and an bit about the inspiration for the track. We would also thank the Lizards for their contribution to the show!

How could we say no to a band of self described Geek musicians!

  1. I’ve found some Rooster glasses for you!

    Here and here!

  2. One complaint and KnightWise moderates himself - I miss the old KW, come back.

The Apple rant made me laugh though. The idea that fanboys would buy Steve Jobs crap cracked me up (it could be called the iCrap).

What! You can delete your own comments?

  3. Another great episode guys. :)
Thanks for the update on the extension and why the episodes have been a bit delayed. I’m sure we all hope you guys can get back to the regular routine eventually, but I, and I’m sure most of the others, certainly understand if you have to prioritise your time due to other commitments and circumstances.

Was KnightWise’s rant cut a bit short? I was listening while in the car, so may have driven through some sort of time-space distortion field, or maybe I was just concentrating more on driving, but it seemed to end a bit suddenly. By the way, I prefer the old, feisty, KW rants.

Also, sorry to hear about the problems you’ve been having Dave, I hope the new glasses help.

Thanks for the kind words as well Dave & Keith. I’ve actually been a bit quiet on the forums the last few days, but hope to have something new to post soon. :)
P.S. The blooper reel was a pisser…have you considered releasing a raw, unedited version of each episode?

  4. Thanks for the episode, guys!

Moderator looks nice. I see that Adobe AIR is gainig real grounds with the desktop. The apps feel lighter. I need to get into that and leave .NET for some bigger stuff.

I don’t get what the complaints about pod-fading, delays were about. It’s not like you’re getting paid to do it, is it? First comes the family, then the actual job and then the podcast. It’s good that you even bother to post an update on the blog that an episode will be delayed.

About the glasses; I have a similar thing to what Dave was describing. My right eye is perfect and my left eye is bad in distance but I had it like that since birth I guess and never had any headaches. I think if you wait some time, you will get used to it and one of your eyes will compensate the other effortlessly.
I prefer that to wearing glasses.

    [rant]
Knightwise on valium was terrible. I want the real Knightwise! Stop killing my idol. Stop it, now! We should hunt down the guy that was complaining and block his IP forever.
    [/rant]

  5. I am a knightwise fanboy. I will be sending him a post paid box.

    ;-)

  6. I am sure that KW is crying tears of joy… Geeze… I did enjoy this weeks rant through, even for an Apple Fanboy - at least he retains rational thought.

Be sure to drop round to the Lizards site and say hello! I am looking forward to featuring these guys, plus they like us… and we did not pay them and they linked to us, I am sure they would like a visit from a few geeks. Just don’t trash the joint, I can’t afford the clean up bill.

  7. Thanks for the great show, I was beginning to wonder if my iTunes had missed a download somewhere - you what those apple products are like!

I believe KW was auditioning for the belgian version of South Park…wasn’t he?? Good Work Fella!!

  8. Dont work for apple.

i’m pretty bummed about all the layoffs in the bay. i have nothing but the best wishes for tech companies. we need a lot more innovation.

until someone offers OGG downloads I want physical CDs. I’ve bought two albums through itunes one of which was Swedish and painful to acquire otherwise.

the e71 perfectly matches my e51 from the side
    very cool!

speaking of medical issues. i start alprazolam tomorrow!
    :-(

have you guys tried the android emulator?

  9. Can I go against the grain and say I like KW rants to be clever and thought out which I thought this one was. Just ranting to fill air is great if it makes him feel better but I’d prefer not to listen to it. KW is clever and witty with some good comic delivery, as long as he doesn’t force it. He made me laugh out loud on several occasions as the host.
So KW, more killer, less filla!!

Well done team for getting a show out. Don’t force them out we all have those real life pressures and I happily wait around for shows rather than you guys driving yourselves into the ground and quitting after 6 months.

  10. Hey all, great show this week!

Just got a few geeky comments to add -

i-tunes - Yes, If your PC crashes half way through a download, you can resume from the point where you left off. Once you completely download it, it’s up to you to back it up. However, Apple give you a once only time to be able to re-download everything you have ever bought on the store if your hard disc is toast or something (unless its no longer available on itunes, say an artist removes the single or something).

As for Warcraft, you cannot “steal” anything from another character that does not belong to you. You can attack other players if you are playing on one of the “player vs. player” servers, but there are also normal servers which disable this. So most complaints of harrasment are ignored by Blizzard. You make the choice when you sign up originally and you can transfer to a normal server (for a fee, of course…)

  11. Good show, and good rant KW. I liked it even though it was a bit more sedate this time. :)

  12. Who ON EARTH could complain about Knightwise’s Rants??!! DO NOT tone down your RAnt, Knightwise! I LOVE those rants - perfect for the AussieGeek Podcast.
