The History of the Internets

Found this great animated history of the Internet and thought it was worth sharing. Pretty well done and great to polish up on the facts of exactly where this thing came from.

  1. You ever seen Nerds 2.0.1 ? It’s a documentary made by the PBS back in the 90s which is about the beginnings and the rise of The Internet. Has interviews with Bill, Steve and a lot of other important peeps. If you like that stuff you should check it out..

  2. Great video. That would have been very time consuming to do too. Good stuff. Thanks.

  3. Sorry Terry not seen that one, I’ll chase it up.

NP Skribe, I know you would appreciate the animation.

  4. Check out this series of movies on YouTube entitled, “Triumph of the Nerds.”

This film chronicles the rise of the personal computer/home computer beginning in the 1970s with the Altair 8800, Apple II and VisiCalc. It continues through the IBM PC and Apple Macintosh revolution through the 1980s and the mid 1990s at the beginning of the Dot-com boom. It includes interviews with Apple Computer’s Steve Jobs and Microsoft’s Bill Gates.

This three-part film first premiered on PBS in June 1996.
