Aussie Geek Podcast #022 :: The One Hour Show
Just want to have a small gloat that we have achieved the AGP Holy Grail! Yes I too found it hard to believe. Sure it is a fraction over the hour mark but blame Herne for that, it is his music…
That aside, this is a massive week for the AGP as this show marks the biggest change to the AGP since before it was the AGP. So, want your feedback and suggestions! But listen closely for how things are going to work and we will be following up later in the week with a post about the proposed changes.
Please send us your feedback either via email or by leaving your comment right here. Or click the MyChingo link to leave us an audio comment that we can include in the show!

Oh sure! Blame the Herne when there were obviously bloopers running out the length of the show!
That song sounded much better when I heard it the first time… I think maybe because you guys were talking over it, it ruined my experience. (snicker)
Personally, I would like anyone else who’s interested to suggest an ending song for the AGP! Do it, or I’ll be forced to suggest some more myself!
(Also, I would vote for the 3 hour show, but I think the edit would kill Dave…)
Dave don’t be too worried about keeping the podcast down to an Hour. In fact I think you should just not worry about time and finish when you finish. I will back Herne up and vote for the 3 hour show
Sorry Herne but I think we should give the task of picking the song back to Keith. Keith’s last pick was very good
@Herne thanks for the comments, we appreciate your continued support of the show. Yes the 3 hour edit would kill me.
@Molsen I would thank you as well. A three hour show would not be hard, however…
Remember that for every minute recorded there is 3 minutes of post production in some shape or form required… so:
3 X 60= 180 minutes of recorded audio
180 X 3= 540 minutes of post
OR: 9 hours… you get the idea…
I’ll be following up the podcast this week with a post about the changes and why go over the format again. It would be great to get some feedback on the actual proposal from listeners
@Molsen I went back and previewed the other music picks I sent Dave the other week… the next couple should be better. ;P
I could’ve been drunk when I originally made the suggestions. It happens…occasionally.
Firstly… @Herne… sorry for bagging you out on Twitter about your music… actually I think it was Keith’s choices I didn’t like. (sorry Keith!) This one was interesting but I enjoyed it!
But I see Molsen doesn’t agree… oh well, to each his own - don’t ask me to pick though or you’ll get 80’s Europop which would probably diminish the listenership figures pretty swiftly.
On to the show… change is good. The best thing about the aussie geek show is that you both listen to and communicate to your listeners, so it has become more than just a podcast. That, and consistently good audio quality (which I know is a huge job for Dave to edit and produce) are what sets this show apart, so if this helps keep the show on the road then that’s fantastic!
Anyway, my contribution has been to open a delicious account… I’m tom.125 there (someone else has the tom125 name and isn’t using it… grrr…), so I’ll start tagging merrily away. Be warned though, my taste in websites is just as eclectic as my taste in music.
I dont like censorship. I wish apple would just open the floodgates. If obscenities killed children I’d not be here. Are we trying to breed a generation of weaklings?
btw - seagate was dumping refurb and EOL drives this weekend. I think an external 1TB drive with USB and FW was about 90 USD.
