  1. Hey Travis, thanks for the comment - Cait was absent for this episode - just myself and Keith.

That aside though - the statement that Conroy made in relation to the open WiFi “moving violations” was ridiculous. To say this was the most serious breach of privacy ever, please… people have short memories - how about back when a whole bunch of search search data was released to the public.

Sure he might have been taking a shot based on previous embarrassment but it was substance-less and ill-informed and arrogant. So he looked like a dumb arse as a result.

And sorry but any politician trying to plunge Australia into the Internet dark ages with a filter that causes the rest of the world to compare us to China and the like is a fool.

  2. It’s just media spin mate and having lobbied pollies before they say stupid things when they know they are stupid only if they know they can get away with it. It certainly doesn’t make them stupid (cunning would be a better word), more the main stream media stupid for letting them get away with it. It wasn’t designed for the well informed technology savvy.

If you want to make statements about politicians and their intelligence I’d suggest reading up a bit. Dare I suggest a Cameron Riley podcast on the subject?!

From memory it was a proviso of a deal done with the family first Senator Steve Fielding (although I might need to brush up on the facts). If it was he might make a more accurate target of your angst.

But I posted for a different reason. Thanks for the review of the speakers, I’d love to know when the get back to the $30 mark, I’ve only seen them for $70 around here.

Keep up the good work, awesome show.

  3. Gee thanks for those comments on my singing, KD. ;P

Next time I’ll sing about eReaders, how’s that?

  4. Internet Filter Scheme is now under review. Closest thing to being shelved without saying it is shelved!

    Huzzza!

  5. pssssst - data domain
